Dear Parent,
Welcome to another year of Balavihar. After the exciting assembly in the morning we went to our class in Kutiya. We will have our classes there this year. So, next class onward the students can go there directly.
We had our first class outside in the lawn under the shade. We divided the students into different groups and asked them to build something from scratch. They were free to take whatever was available outside. They came up with some creative ideas. We will share these pictures in our whatsapp group.
The discussion after this exercise was to get to the following questions:
1. What did you use to create your object?
1. What did you use to create your object?
2. Did you create it from scratch? Really?
3. If you did not create these from scratch then what were the ingredients you used created from?
3. If you did not create these from scratch then what were the ingredients you used created from?
All matter is made from earth, water, fire, air and space. These combined with the inner elements - Mind, Wisdom & Ego comprise all matter manifestations. So, can we really make something from matter?
The next topic of the conversation was about Hindu and Sanatana. The word Hindu is a modified version of the word 'sindhu', which describes the geographical area around sindhu & saraswati region. The word Sanatana means eternal. It is ancient and unending. It is considered "Ever aging and never old".
We also had a conversation about the goal of our life. There were a lot of interesting answers -
- Money
- Job
- Peace
- Food
- Nothing
- Car .....
We discussed that in the end the goal is to be happy. Every "object" we crave is eventually to achieve that happiness. Our shastras say that the goal of anything is to "Dukha Nivritti and Sukha Prapti" - avoid sorrow and gain happiness.
We will learn more about Hindu culture (Sanatana Sanskriti) which tells us ways to understand what we are made of and which tells us how to be happy.
Some parents joined us outside. We will get into a better routine soon.
