Welcome to our Grade 4 class, a quick recap of what was covered today. Today was the 6th Session of our class.
We all met in our classroom -- "Kesava" and after everyone sat down we said our Opening prayers.
Opening Prayers: We all sat straight, criss cross, hands folded, chanted together 3 Oms, then Sahana Vavatu, Ganesha Slokha -Vakra Tunda, Saraswathi Slokha- Saraswathi Namasthubayam, and Guru Slokha - Guru Brahma.
Sloka Chanting: Krishnashtakam- We together chanted Sri Krishnashtakam a couple of times. Kids were asked to learn the chanting at home in the next few weeks.
Class Attendance was taken after this.
Bala Bhagavatam - We continued from the part where everyone was celebrating Krishna's birth in Gokula. Everyone from Gokula and all of the other nearby villages came over to see little Sri Krishna and were enchanted by his beauty and aura.
And soon Kamsa came to know of the birth of the child in Nandakumar's house in Gokula. And he started thinking whether this was the divine baby who is going to kill him as mentioned in the prophecy. And decided to send the ferocious Rakshasha Putana to kill Sri Krishna.
Putana comes to Gokula dressed as a beautiful and charming lady, comes near Yashoda, and asks to carry Krishna and tries to nurse him and feed him poison, Sri Krishna holds onto her tightly and soon she is in lot of pain and eventually assumes her original form as the huge ferocious Rakshashi and falls down and dies. And although evil, she finally attained Moksha, as her true intention was to feed the Lord. The kind hearted Lord Forgives her and gives her Salvation and exhibiting the great Virtue of 'Forgiveness'.
And when Kamsa realizes Putana was unsuccessful, He sends the evil 'TrnaVarta', who comes in the form of a huge wind, creating terrible and huge Tornado, and carries away little baby Krishna, But Sri Krishna becomes more mighty and strong and thereby crushes TrnaVarta killing him.
Naming Ceremony of Sri Krishna : Naming Ceremony took place in the Go-shala of Nandakumar ji house and The Yadava Guru 'Garga' named Rohini (first wife of Nandakumar)'s son as BalaRama for his strength and for having good qualities like Rama and his other name is Sankarshana - as he is the one who can unite all the Yadavas and keep them happy.
And Devaki and Yashodha's son - as he is eternal lord, who takes on different complexions in each Yuga and in this Yuga as he is dark/ blue in color, he is named as Sri Krishna, and also called as Vasudeva.

Good people revive Others by Good deeds, Good Thoughts, By Sight,Touch, Words. Water Flows thru Everything- It Keeps Flowing, same way we should push thru all Obstacles and achieve our goals.
Brainstorming : Speak Sweet & Good words, and you will have many friends.

Through the Story: You are Known by Your Words and through the Story: The Echo , we learnt that we should say good and kind words to all around us and expect good from all.
Catch Them Before - we should be careful when we speak as Words Once Spoken cannot be taken back, similar to how we have no control over the arrow that gets released from the bow and water that spills cannot be collected back.
Bhagavad Gita : Verses 2 and 3 were recited today. Kids are encouraged to keep practising.
Likitha Japa: Kids were given papers to write Rama nama 1008 times before December 1st. Kids started writing with a lot of Enthusiasm.
After this we all went to the Prayer hall for Aarthi and Pledge. We had a great class today and all the kids participated very well in everything and listened to everything with a lot of Interest.
