Chinmaya Vrindavan
Hari Om,
We had a busy class today as we start our preparation for Jan 26 stage performance.
We started class with our opening prayer, did a quick recap from Rama arriving in Mithila, and went through Chapter 11.
Rama, Laksmana and Sita reach Rsi Bharadvaja's ashram. He guides them to Citrakuta mountains in Tapovan where they settle. Sumantra returns to Ayodhya to find the city still confused by the events. King Dasaratha and Kausalya are in tears. King Dasaratha knows that his time is coming and recounts to Kausalya his misgivings when he was young.
Sravana- When Dasaratha was young, he goes hunting in the night and accidentally kills a young ascetic, Sravana. Sravana takes care of his blind parents. He laments at who will take care of his parents. Dasaratha goes to Sravana's parents and begs for forgiveness. Sravana's father realizes that he did not intentionally kill their son, but tells Dasaratha that he too will lament for his son and die of grief.
Message- Although unintentional, Dasaratha also gets the results of his actions.
Gita Chapter 5- Swamiji reviewed verses 6-7.
Play- we started the very basic rehearsal, assigning parts to the kids. We will try to have each child play Rama, Laksmana, Bharat, Sita, Hanuman and Ravan. It will be actions, no lines, more playing out some scenes from Ramayana. We are just trying to figure out who is definitely around the weeks ahead for practice.
Thank you so much for your cooperation.
With our Guru's Blessings,
Aastha and Kavita
