Welcome to our Grade 4 class, a quick recap of what was covered today. Today was the 14th Session of our class.
We all met in our classroom -- "Kesava" and after everyone sat down we said our Opening prayers.Kids were excited to meet each other after Winter break.
Opening Prayers: We all sat straight, criss-cross, hands folded, chanted together 3 Oms, then Sahana Vavatu, Ganesha Slokha -Vakra Tunda, Saraswathi Slokha- Saraswathi Namasthubayam, Guru Slokha - Guru Brahma.
Slokha : We together chanted KrishnaAshtakam.
My 24 Gurus - We learnt about 5 Gurus, who taught us about our Senses (Sight, Smell, Taste, Listening, Touch)

Next Guru - Moth - Sense of Sight
Who Am I?

Qualities to learn from the Gurus - Moth, HoneyBee, Elephant, Deer, Fish are
From the HoneyBee Hard work is good, but we need to spend time enjoying the results and rest as well.
From the Moth, we should learn to control our desires, and not take risks
From the Deer, we should not be carried away with the sweet words spoken to us.
From the Fish, we should not be greedy for delicious food at all times.
From the Elephant, we should not get attracted to everything we desire
To have control over our Senses and do everything in Moderation.
Story 1: Monkey and the Orange- we learnt that if we get attracted to everything, it will be in vain.
Story 2: Magical Mirror- Through the story of the King and the Magical mirror, we learnt that enjoying the beauty of nature, taking care of our health, and following a health regime, and not succumbing to enjoyment, overindulgence in food and drink, and in being lazy, will benefit us all.
Krishna Krishna Everywhere - Krishna and Goverdhan Leela - We discussed the Arrogance of God Indra and his challenge to the people of the Vrindavan. And Sri Krishna's advice to the people of Vrindavan to pray to the holy Cows, pious Brahmins, and to the Mountain Goverdhan and showed the same via youtube video - Goverdhana Leela.
Karma and Nishkama Karma : We discussed what Karma is and what Karmaphala means and what Nishkama Karma means. Kids shared their thoughts, we discussed Karma - means working , doing deeds, Karmaphala - are the consequences, and you have to take the responsibility, and be accountable for all your actions.
Nishkama Karma : is doing deeds without any selfish motive and without expecting anything in return. Kids shared names of famous personalities who did noble deeds for the benefit of mankind.
Attendance: Class Attendance was taken after this.
Game: Catch the Senses: We divided the class into two groups and asked them to identify 5 team members in each team who will be Sight, Sense, Taste, Touch, Hearing. A ball was placed in the middle, and when words like pizza, beautiful painting, violin music, peacock feather, etc was called out -- each respective team member had to grab for the ball and try to hit it to the wall of the opposite team and the opposite have to defend, stopping it from hitting the wall. This was an interesting game and kids enjoyed playing it.
Bhagvad Geeta chanting : Then the video of verses 19, 20, 21 from Ch 5 BG was played on TV and we all chanted together.
Pictures : Kids came dressed in the Kurta(i)'s and we all took a couple of pictures together. And some class pictures were taken during the game as well. All of the pictures were shared with Parents via whatsapp.
After this we all went to the assembly for aarthi, and stated the pledge.
It was another interesting session, and kids were very collaborative and shared interesting views on everything that was discussed in class today. Class slides shared in the whatsapp group.
