Mahabharata:

With the news of Uttara's victory, king ordered the courtiers to welcome his son to the city with all the festivities. He played a game of dice with Kanaka and kept boasting about Uttara. Kananka remarked that it was charioteer Brihannala who actually fought. King got upset and defensive when Kanaka repeated his praise for Brihannala again. Virat with anger threw the dice at Kanaka causing his nose to bleed. Sairandhri immediately attended to the bleeding nose.

When Uttara and Brihannala were waiting to meet the king, Kanaka asked the messenger to let only Uttara in. Arjuna initially took a vow  that he would kill anyone who caused Yudhishtira to bleed. Uttara, after knowing the reason for Kanaka's nose bleeding, asked his father to apologize.

The next day Pandavas wore their kingly wear and ornaments and entered the King's court. Yudhishthira sat on the king's thrown. Virat was puzzled to see Yudhishthira on the thrown. Arjuna introduced all the pandavas to Virat: Virat immediately asked for forgiveness and offered his entire kingdom. Later, Virat's daughter's wedding with Abhimanyu was arranged. Many kings including Balarama and Lord Krishna attended the wedding.

Game practice:
As you know, we will be hosting a quiz competition for the play. In class, we played the Mahabharata Jeopardy quiz. Students were divided into seven groups:
  • four groups participated in the quiz as teams
  • two groups practiced anchoring and narrating
  • one group worked on creating team names and designing artwork to match them.
The students enjoyed the quiz, and the narrators refined their scripts while gaining valuable practice.

Request to parents:
With more practice, students will become more comfortable with the game and participate more effectively. It is crucial for all students to attend class regularly until the play is over to avoid mishaps and surprises on stage.

Parents of narrators, please help your kids at home by:
  • Encouraging them to practice and refine their scripts
  • Providing tips on making the game more engaging
  • Helping them with phrases for:
    • Cheering for the teams on right answers
    • Passing the question to the next group
    • Announcing the team that hits the buzzer first
    • etc scenarios
Thank you,
Sachin and Sirisha
