Chinmaya Vrindavan
Hari Om everyone,
We started the class with 3 Om's and our starting prayer.
We did encourage kids to sing the opening Prayers and will be asking them in next classes.
We did a quick recap of all the classes.
This class we did learn chapter 17, 18,19.
We did learn about the story of Khara and Dusana.
Chapter 17:
As laxman did cut Surpankha's nose and ear because she was creating trouble for rama that we already learned in previous chapter. She was so angry and went to her wicked Brothers to complain about Rama and Laxman. Hearing this Kara and Dusana were filled with anger and hatred for rama and sent their best 14 mightiest Generals to fight against Rama and Laxmana. Seeing them approach, rama said to Laxmana , i will fight these Rakshasa, you do guard Sita. Rama killed all so now Surpankha gets more angry , Khara now gets an army of 14,000 general to fight against Rama and Laxman. Rama killed all the demons and devas were so happy to see this , but only one akampa demon was not killed . So he goes to Ravana and tells more about Rama strength and how he killed all Raksha's.
Akampa was scared while he narrated all this to ravana, he thought he might kill hi right away so he asked to seek shelter under him. This made Ravana more furious , and angry on Rama. I will kill you for sure now. So he went to Marica for his help. He asked marica to help him in defeating Rama. Marica kept on insisting that Ravana please don't do this , you are doing wrong. Rama spared my life and now i have learnt lesson , you don't make that mistake. But ravana insisted him to help in the plan.
Chapter 18:
Ravan asks marica to become a golden deer that would enchant sita. So she will urge Rama to get it for her and meanwhile he will abduct sita. so losing sita Rama will either die due to the pain and grief or he will come to take her back and ravana will kill rama. Marica was not convinced with this plan but he thought even in doing this i get killed by Rama i would be lucky .
sita saw a shining golden deer one fine morning and asked rama to get him. Laxman said this could be a trap of rakshas to get us. But sita insisted rama to get it.
Rama went behind deer in forest and asked Laxan to guard sita. After awhile Laxman heard a voice for help, he thought it was rama calling for help. So he made a laxman rekha and asked sita not to stepout from it till they both return. Sita was crying as she thought rama is in trouble and calling for help.
Chapter 19:
As soon as laxman steps out , a brahmin comes to ask for bhiksha. Sita steps out of the line and brahmin turns into Ravana and abducts sita. Sita cries and shouts for help.
Games:
We played a Ramayan charades, in which each kid acted a character they learned till now and others guessed it.
We played the meditation game as well.
We did likhita japa and the coloring book activity.
we did learn opening and closing prayers. we will be quizzing kids for that in next class. Hope you all keep registering and encouraging kids for all the upcoming events. Details in whatsapp Group.
