Apr 13, 2025 - Kindergarten (Sunday AM)

Hari Om,

Today was the 22nd session . Please find the summary below.

Opening Prayers:  We together chanted three OMs and then chanted the Opening Prayers - Sahana Vavatu. All the kids joined in and chanted well.

Sloka learning: As it was Hanuman Jayanti yesterday, we learnt a Hanuman ji Shloka and its meaning. Children repeated it several times. Recording shall be shared through whatsapp group.

manojavaṃ mārutatulyavegaṃ
jitendriyaṃ buddhimatāṃ variṣṭha .
vātātmajaṃ vānarayūthamukhyaṃ
śrīrāmadūtaṃ śaraṇaṃ prapadye .

Yoga : Children did exercises and yoga stances we have learnt so far.

We refreshed U for Unity and V for Victory.

Introduction : W is for Work. Work is the effort you must do to get some result.

Story Time : We narrated the story "The Villagers Dream" , Where in the villager just laid and dreamt about how he would become rich and accidentally broke the pot which had some food!

Brainstormed : We discussed about the villager, whether he really worked, what was he doing, and whether worrying about the results of our action is actually work? Children agreed that  it's important to work towards our goal and not just daydream, which leads to no action and no results.

If we look around, everything in life requires a lot of work! The food we eat, clothes we wear, the toys we have or the computer games we play - everything is the outcome of effort! Even in nature - be it a bird building nest to King of the Jungle hunting for food , Everything has to work!

Story time : Through the story of The Ant and The Grasshopper, Where the grasshopper just lazed and enjoyed summer instead of preparing for fall and winter, we learnt what happens if someone doesn't do their work when they have to.

We analyzed how everything we have today, someone has worked really hard to get it -  say, house/home, bridges, parks, roads, railway tracks - Parents, grandparents, engineers and construction workers etc..

Discussion : We discussed what do children think is their main work? Studying hard and helping at home whenever they can was the majority of the response. They are bang right! The most important aspect to remember all through is "What I do - I do Well! "

Story time : Through the story of "Ramesh's Work" , where Ramesh , a security check officer at airport, did not do his job well and it resulted in a lot of trouble for the police, the passengers, the pilot, the flight staff etc..

Discussion : We discussed what happens when we don't brush well , or we don't do homeworks, or pack school bags or if the teacher comes to class and just sleeps. If we don't do our work well, we will not be able to enjoy, we will have a lot of trouble to deal with , we might have a lot of stress and give others a lot of stress as well. We concluded that whatever we do we must do it WELL ! Do the very best you can!

W is work , Move your body to be somebody

Game : We played a game of Clap and Stomp.! children enjoyed it really well

Attendance: Attendance was taken and each kid responded by saying 'Hari Om'.

We did a round of the year end practice today.  It was a very interactive class with kids and we are delighted with the discussion participation by each of them.!

Please note, No class on coming sunday April 20th.

Next Class : April 27th.
