Week 2 Class
Class began with writing the Likhita Japa, followed by opening prayers and attendance.

Shlokas
The class learned Sarva Mangala Mangalye (pg 39, My Prayers book) and Verse 1 of the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam (pg 40, My Prayers book).

Mahabharata
We started the recap of the Mahabharata story with the important prasangas from the Adi Parva. 
Story of Shantanu and Ganga, the birth of Devavrath and his oath, Amba's story. 
The story of the birth of Dhritarashtra, Pandu, and Vidura. 
And the story of the birth of Radheya, the Pandavas and the Kauravas.
The children also made the Kuru family tree in their notebooks. We took a quick stretching break after this.

India, the Sacred Land
Topic: Guru Parampara - The lineage followed by Chinmaya Mission. The children did a "solve the puzzle" activity

Gita Chanting
This year, we will learn Chapter 5 of the Bhagavad Gita from our Swamiji. Grade 6 is group Partha, and is assigned verses 1-26 to memorise. 
Today the class learned the proper Sanskrit pronunciations with a Primer video.

We concluded the session with Aarti and Pledge recitation in the Prayer Hall.

Supplies needed for every class:- Bala Vihar Handbook, My Prayers book, the Junior Class Workbook Part 1 & 2, a notebook and pencils for likhita japa; everything in their Bala Vihar bag
