Welcome to our Grade 4 class, a quick recap of what was covered in class today.
From the Assembly hall, we all went to our classroom -- "Kesava" and after everyone sat down we did a quick recap of what we do first in every session. Kids responded that we say 3 Oms, Opening Prayers etc.
Opening Prayers: We all sat straight, criss cross, hands folded, chanted together 3 Oms, then Sahana Vavatu, Ganesha Slokha -Vakra Tunda, Saraswathi Slokha- Saraswathi Namasthubayam, and Guru Slokha - Guru Brahma . Everyone nicely chanted together and concentrated well.
Introduction of Teachers & Kids: We teachers introduced ourselves, and asked each kid to say their name and any one fun thing they did over the summer, Kids shared the places they visited and some discussed some details from it as well.
Introduction of Class Format and Class Curriculum: We had prepared an Introductory slide- depicting the class format, and Class Curriculum - Bala Bhagavatham -2 and My 24 Teachers , which we discussed in class. We discussed learning Krishnashtakam, and Damodara Stotram. And this year
We will be learning Bhagvad Geeta Ch 5.
And as the topic is Bala Bhagvatham part 2, we did a nice recap of the different Vishnu Avatars , Yugas, and we are excited to say Kids happily shared relevant stories related to some of the Avataras.
It was great to see kids recollect and share some of the intricate details related to King Parikshit story, what is KaliYuga etc.
For the benefit of new students, we went over King Parikshit, as we shared our observations on what we learnt from each Avatar, King Parikshit.
And then Using examples of kids playing a sport, we discussed briefly, Who is a teacher? Why do we need to learn from a teacher(coach)? Kids responded by saying - we need to learn the game, know the rules of the game, and learn the techniques in the game and hence we need to listen to a coach(teacher). And we inferred in the same way, there are 24 Teachers from whom we need to learn.
Quiz time: We had prepared a Fun Quiz of 10 questions (via slides), which was about the Vishnu Avatars. Kids enjoyed it, and actively participated, aced their responses, and for some questions they were pondering on why a certain answer is right or wrong.
By this time, Parents came into the class, and we went over some of the slides with parents to give them an overview of the class. The slides are shared with parents, via the class whatsapp group. Thank you parents for coming to meet with us. Please go through the slides if you could not come today to the class.
After this attendance was taken and then we all went to the prayer hall for Assembly, for Aarthi and Pledge.
It was a great session today, kids actively participated, and we had a lot of fun overall and especially with the quiz. Looking forward to a great year ahead with your wonderful kids!!
