Oct 27, 2024 - Grade 7 (Sunday AM)

Hari Om Parents,

Below were the topics discussed with our children during last weekend's class. I apologize the delay in getting this drafted

Keys to Success - Formula:

Today, we continued our discussion around the concept of success by asking our children to name a few people they admire for their achievements. This helped them see success as something relatable and accessible. We emphasized the importance of approaching challenges with an open mindset, encouraging children to be curious and flexible in the face of obstacles.

We then delved into the inspiring story of Thomas Edison and his journey while inventing the light bulb. Through Edison's perseverance, we explored the value of hard work, resilience, and learning from each attempt, no matter the outcome. After that, wpropsed the formula for success:

A (Hard Work) + B (Knowledge) + C (Laughter) = Success

This formula highlights that success isn't only about working hard and gaining knowledge, but also about finding joy in the process. It was a wonderful way for the children to understand that a balanced approach can lead to meaningful accomplishments.

Ramayana - Rama's Exile:

Today, we explored the events leading up to Lord Rama's exile, examining how each choice shaped the unfolding of this significant moment. We discussed how Rama, despite facing unexpected challenges, remained calm and balanced, showing integrity and respect for his duty. His decisions illustrated the strength that comes from inner peace and a sense of purpose, even when circumstances are difficult.

In contrast, we looked at Kaikeyi's actions, influenced by jealousy and fear instilled by Mandara. Her choices remind us of the consequences of letting negative emotions guide our decisions and the importance of considering context and background when forming friendships.

This story emphasized the importance of reflection and careful thought when making choices in life. Through Lord Rama's example, we learned how choosing the right path requires patience, awareness, and the wisdom to understand both ourselves and those around us.
