Hari OM Parents!
So far, we have reviewed Mahabharatha storyline and the context of Kurushetra war in which Lord Krishna taught Arjuna. We revisited important frameworks such as the BMI chart and the four purshuarthas (Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha). We explored the connection between the BMI chart and the purusharthas and we are going to review their connection with the Laws of Karma and Dharma.
We reviewed two shlokas from the 9th chapter in which Lord Krishna explains how great souls worship him. They glorify and worship him with great resolve and dedication. Some worship him as the one in all forms. We asked the class how the approach to jyana yoga can be creatively used in the context of getting high marks in the SAT exam. The class came up with several ideas such as understanding the importance of getting good scores in the SAT exam, identifying distractions from friends and developing methods to avoid them (ignore, politely decline, and take planned breaks), and the purpose of taking the exam is for themselves and not for the sake of their parents.
Einstein said a problem cannot be solved from the same plane in which it is defined. So by learning about how the world functions, one can understand how the SAT exam fits in the bigger picture of life and approach it with the correct attitude. In addition to attending Balavihar, the students can also participate in jyana yajnas conducted in the Ashram and volunteer in activities thereby meeting other people with similar interests and broadening their outlook.
