Dear Parents,
We had a wonderful and engaging session last week with the children. One of the key highlights was discussing ideas for our grade's upcoming stage performance on March 30th. We introduced two potential concepts:
"Dharma Chariot": Inspired by the Vibheeshana Geetha, this performance would explore the different qualities that make up the Dharma Chariot as described by Rama to Vibheeshana. Each quality symbolizes a specific part of the chariot used in war, such as valor, truth, and patience. The children would bring these qualities to life through their roles, and we plan to use most of the props for the Dharma Chariot you already built together as part of the previous year's performance.
"I Wish I Were…": This concept allows the children to explore their creativity and empathy by imagining themselves as a character from the Ramayana and expressing what they would do or feel in that role. About half of those who attended the last class were enthusiastic about this approach. We want our children to not only explore the personalities we've discussed in class but also those we will explore in the near future if they resonate with them. This would not only help the children connect with these aspects and their backgrounds but also make it easier to incorporate their insights into the final performance.
Both ideas aim to inspire thoughtful participation and showcase the children's understanding of the Ramayana. We encourage you to discuss these options with your child and share their preferences and thoughts during the next class.
We also engaged in a lively group quiz that explored various concepts from the Ramayana discussed in class. It was highly competitive, enjoyable, and truly a memorable experience of the year till date.
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm. We look forward to working together to make this performance meaningful and memorable!
Warm regards,
Keerthi and Rahul
