Hari Om Parents!
We started the class with 3 OMs followed by the opening prayer "Sahanavatu", Ganesha, Saraswati, Guru shlokas and chanted the Gītā dhyānam shlokas.

Following that we discussed about how creation happened in order in which the Pancha bhuthas were created and how OM is the ultimate truth and the origin of the entire cosmic.
We had the kids read through pages 64 onwards from Symbolism in Hinduism which talks about the OM in the context of the 3 states (waking, dream, deep sleep) and how consciousness is a substratum for all.
Last 30 minutes we had them work on the play skit writing. When it was time we chanted the Bhagavad Gita last two verses which concludes chapter 5. Here is the friendly url for the entire chapter 5 chanting videos.
after closing prayer we all went to watch the grade 6 stage performance- Mahabharata quiz. Even 3 kids from our class participated as one of the team.
