Mar 23, 2025 - Kindergarten (Sunday AM)

Hari Om,

Please find the summary of our 19th Session.

Opening Prayers/Slokas: We all sat straight, criss-cross, hands folded, chanted together 3 Oms and all the slokas we have learnt so far. Next week a few children have agreed to lead different slokas for the class.

Yoga : We did all the Yoga poses we have learnt so far ! Children are doing these stances beautifully.

Quiz/Refresh : We continue to have these revision quizzes covering past class stories, learnings. Children continue to enjoy this part of the session and it gives us immense joy to hear them talk about the learnings with confidence!

Introduction : T for Think and T is for Trust. We refreshed our learnings on Letter I for Intelligence, which was to Think before you Speak and Think before you act. When we think , we are able to speak the right words or take the right course of action. This is called Wisdom .

Story Time : Through the story of the fox and the Rooster, we saw several instances of how blind action leads to disaster and how thinking before acting can help save ourselves from trouble and keep us and everyone around us safe!

Game Time : Pinning the nose on a clown. Through the game we again reiterated that thinking before acting helps us understand how to get the nose right on the clown! We should keep our thinking hats on all the time.

Brainstorm : T is for Truth! We discussed with the children if they have ever lied . We all had some instances where we had not spoken the truth. We discussed why we think we did that - we all know lying is not good, but sometimes we are scared if we will get scolded if we share the truth! However we also agreed that we lose peace of mind, we worry if our lie might get caught, we lose confidence and of course , we never feel good lying! Above all, people stop trusting us!! We should always be Truthful in our thoughts , speech and action. Truth always wins! We also discussed ways where we will be able to express truth without being worried!

Story : Through the story of the Boy who cried wolf, as narrated by one of the children , we also learnt that by lying , we can hurt ourselves and others around us.

SATYAM VADA, PRIYAM VADA.

Game : We sat in a circle and played Its Hard to Lie! Shreya didi read out actions (quiet monkey, Small elephant etc...) and we had to do the exact opposite. The message through the game was it's hard to lie and it's extremely easy to be truthful !!

Attendance : Children responded with Hari Om as their names were called out.

Introduction : X for EXcellence! We started with each child talking about what they think they were good at. We had responses like swimming, Soccer, Math and English, walking etc... Were we born good at swimming or even walking? No! Children were sure that it was sheet practice that got them to be really good at each of those activities. Excellence means something is Very,Very Very Good and that can come only with Practice.

Story time : Through the story of Perseverance Succeeds, the story of Thomas Edison, we spoke about being Curious and wearing the curious , learning hat always. Thomas Edison was not discouraged by the 100 plus odd times that he failed while trying to make bulbs, but he responded with confidence that now he knows 100 different ways of how not to make bulbs!! He eventually went on to do many innovations! One should keep trying and Never give up! Do your best and leave the rest to god!

We had a wonderful time with the children and are looking forward to next week!

Next Class : Next class is on 30th March.
