Chinmaya Vrindavan
Hari Om everyone,
We had a very nice class. All of the kids went to the hall to do the Guru Paduka puja.
Both Yuvaans did a lovely job of doing a recap. They asked the students some questions.
We reviewed over Chapter 33 and 34.
Chapter 33
The fighting begins. Vanaras and the Raksasas start their battle. Thousands die from both sides. Indrajit uses his magic, becomes invincible, and throws poisonous arrows to Rama and Laksmana. Both become unconscious. Vanaras start to gather around them, but Vibisana reassures them that they are alive. Indrajit proudly announces to Ravana that he has killed Rama. Ravana sends Sita in his Puspaka Vimana to see Rama lying unconscious. She begins to weep but is also reassured by Trijata that they are still alive. Garuda comes and the darts leave. Both wake up from their spell. Garuda tells Rama that they will meet again. Vanaras cheer loudly and Ravana finds out that they are alive.
Chapter 34
Ravana sends numerous powerful generals to the battle, and they all die in the hands of the Vanaras, Rama, and Lakshman. Finally, Rama and Ravana meet in battle. They fight hard but Rama breaks Ravana's chariot and destroys his weapons. Rama, being just, tells Ravana that he has fought a brave battle but go home to rest the night. Ravana is furious. He wakes up his brother Kumbhakarna, who sleeps for 6 months. Kumbhakarna asks Ravana why he just did not fight Rama alone but listens to his brother and goes to fight. Vanaras are scared. Sugriva is caught by Kumbhakarna, who then parades him through Lanka. But Sugriva escapes. Rama fights Kumbhakarna and is killed. Ravana cries at his death. His sons reassure him and go to fight, but they also are killed.
We only have 3 classes left and hope to continue to recap with games in class.
With our Guru's Blessings,
Aastha and Kavita
