Please remind your child to prepare for their temple presentation for the next 2 weeks.
Week 25 Class
We were missing many of the children in class today!
Class started with Likhita Japa, followed by opening prayers and Mahalakshmi Ashtakam.
India, the Sacred Land
Topic: Pilgrimages of India, Char Dham Yatra - Badri, Kedar, Yamunotri, Gangotri. We discussed the story of the 12 Jyotirlingas.
Next, Anjali did her presentation on the Brihadeshwara Temple in Thanjavur. She shared some unique photos of her visit, including an inside view of the "shikhara"!
Swaroop did his presentation on the Kadri Sri Manjunatheshwara temple near Mangalore. Some unique facts he shared with us included - the 9-day Jathra Mahotsava held for Makar Sankranti, Kadri Kambala water buffalo races, and the Pandava caves!
We wrapped up class early to perform Guru Paduka Puja in the prayer hall. The children chanted the Guru Stotram, performed shodasha upachara puja to Gurudev's picture and chanted the Shatanamavali / 108 names of Guru. The session concluded with the aarti and pledge recitation by our Grade 6 children. They did a great job!
