Week 26 Class
We were missing many of the children in class today, and our class was combined with the Grade 5 class.
We started with Likhita Japa, followed by opening prayers and the children chanted the Mahishasura Mardini Stotram.
India, the Sacred Land
Topic: Journey across India
Spiritual Explorations - Few examples are the Sun Temple, Khajuraho, Golden Temple, Mahabalipuram, Maha Bodhi Temple, Lotus Temple.
Historical Explorations - Like the Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Ajanta Caves, Hawa Mahal, Mysore Palace.
Scenic Explorations - Beautiful travel destinations like Munnar, Gir forest, Jaisalmer, Girnar forest, Dal Lake.
All the children shared stories about their travels to India. They each spoke about the temples they visited with their family and also talked about the delicious prasad they had there.
Next, Sanvi did her temple presentation on the Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden temple in Vellore. She shared a drone view of the temple and spoke about its golden gopura and the Srichakra prakara.
Aparna shared her presentation on the Rameshwaram temple in Tamil Nadu. The deity is Lord Shiva in the Jyotirlinga form. Her presentation included stories from Ramayana, architectural details about the temple, and that her favorite part of the visit was the beach!
The children took a samosas and mango lassi break. The session ended early for the Gr 4 stage performance, and we did pledge recitation in the prayer hall.
Bala Vihar is on a break for Memorial Day, the next class is on June 1.
