Chinmaya Vrindavan
Hari Om everyone,
It is hard to believe that we have 1 class left. We started our class with Om and opening prayer.
We did a long review of the Ramayana. Kids did have trouble remembering names, some of the stories. Hopefully, the recap helped.
We finished all of the Chapters.
Chapter 35-
Ravana gets ready to fight Rama. It is a fierce battle. Ravana's arrows hits Laksmana. He becomes unconscious. Hanuman fetches the hill with the medicinal herbs and revives Laksmana. As Rama cuts off Ravana's head, it grows back. Indra sends his chariot and driver to help. Rama uses Agastya's astra which pierces Ravana's chest. Ravana is dead. The Devas and Vanaras are joyous. Rama convinces Vibhisana to perform Ravana's funeral rites. Rama reminds Vibhisana that he is his brother and died bravely. Mandodari joins Ravana in the funeral pyre. Vibhisana is crowned king of Lanka.
Chapter 36-
Rama sends Hanuman to fetch Sita. Sita is relieved and joyous. She is dressed as a queen. Sita stops Hanuman from killing the raksasas. When Rama sees Sita, he tells her that he has done his duty to bring her back. She has stayed in a stranger's house and cannot take her back. Everyone is shocked. Sita is very upset and makes a funeral pyre. She prays to Agni who rises from the fire and tells Rama to accept her as your wife as she is pure. Rama and Sita reunite.
Chapter 37-
Rama, Laksmana and Sita return to Ayodhya. The kingdom is excited to have Rama back and is crowned the king. Bharata gladly tells Rama to rule his rightful kingdom. Sita gives Hanuman a pearl necklace. Hanuman bows and tells Rama to grant him the love of his feet and that his mind may never waver and run away from Rama's feet.
Next week will be our last class. We will have a treat for them and hopefully play outside.
With our Guru's blessings,
Kavita and Aastha
