Dear Parents,
We are excited to share that the BV 2024-2025 year has begun wonderfully! Here are the highlights from Week #1:
Circle Activity:
- We started the year with a fun circle activity where everyone introduced themselves, shared their favorite hobbies and foods, and created their "Name Tags."
Theme Introduction:
- This year's theme is Lord Hanuman. We gave a brief introduction to him, our Superhero for 2nd grade.
Shloka Practice:
- Our class began with 3 Oms, followed by 3 shlokas. We will focus on the 4th shloka, Gururbrahma Gururvishnuh, in our next session.
- The shlokas we have covered so far are:
- Sahanaavavathu
- Vakratunda Mahaakaaya
- Saraswathi namastubhyam
- We will introduce the new shloka, Buddhir Balam, dedicated to Lord Hanuman.
Festival Discussion:
- We briefly talked about the Ganesh Chathurthi festival.
Learning Focus for the Year:
- Stories about Lord Hanuman
- Hanuman Chalisa
- Bhagavad Gita, 5th Chapter
It was heartening to see the kids excited and engaged, sharing their thoughts about Lord Hanuman. Parents also had the opportunity to meet us, learn about the class, and ask questions.
We concluded the session with Aarti at 8:20 p.m., marking a fantastic first day for everyone.
