Welcome to our Balavihar session 2024 -2025!!! We are really excited and thrilled to have your kids on board with us this year! This year we will delve deep into the values and characters we need to develop with Yato Dharma, Tato Jayah (where there is Dharma, there is victory) as the central theme and learn more about symbolism in our Hindu culture.
We started the session with prayers and then did a quick round of introductions (ice breaker - Two truths and a false about yourselves) starting with introducing ourselves and then getting to know the youths.
We reviewed the curriculum for this year, The key topics that would be covered this year are
1. Symbolism in Hinduism - Lord Ganesha, Shiva, Vishnu, Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati
2. Yato Dharma Tato Jayah
The reference book that we plan to use this year is the Mahabharata book by C Rajagopalachari - This can be purchased from Amazon
Being the first day of the class we started the class with a simple instruction and demonstration of a hand sketch of Lord Ganesh and explained the symbolic description of his form.
We then met some of the parents who made it to the class. We spent some time introducing and discussing the curriculum for the year and key dates. For those that could not make it yesterday feel free to stop by in the next class.

Seva - Annadhanam – Mar 15th 2025 (Saturday)
We also handed each youth the handbook for this year which contains the Bala Vihar calendar, Our Curriculum, Aarti, Pledge, Coordinators for the session and other useful information. Request the youths to bring this to every class. Request the parents to go over the handbook with the youth at home if possible.
Please ask your kids to bring a notebook, pen/pencil in a bag and the Handbook that was provided in the class. For those that are returning students, please remind them to bring 'My Prayers' book as well. if you do not have one you can buy this in the ashram Book stall.
