Jan 26, 2025 - Grade 7 (Sunday AM)

Hari: Om Parents,
Hope you all stayed warm during these past frigid days. Welcome back after having last Sunday off. For the few who were able to come in early, they were given an opportunity to "try" to view the stereograms. We use this as a time for concentration with some guidance. We began class with the chanting of Om three times followed by our opening prayers.

We had a special treat this Sunday with 3 JCHYKs joining our class with treats! JCHYK stands for Junior Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (high school teens in 10th, 11th & 12th grade). JCHYK is an early extension of CHYK whose motto is: Harnessing youth potential through dynamic spirituality. Once a year these high schoolers have an opportunity to come and join us to help teach a class. They came in with an event sequencing activity, charades and jeopardy along with sweet treats for motivation. The topic that was broadly covered was major events and characters in the Aranyakanda. The kids were engaged and enjoyed the class.
We then joined to rest of the morning session in the prayer hall to watch the 1st graders on stage.

Please have the kids bring in their written notes for "If I were..." most kids have their own point of view. Please encourage them to choose a character and put those views on paper. Due to time constraints and the fact that the JCHYKs were in class on Sunday, we were unable to discus roles this week. We will be doing that during our next class (Feb 2). Please have them come prepared. Thank you parents for your continued support and encouragement.

With warm regards,
Rahul and Keerthi
